Angie Craig tests positive for COVID-19

Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig (D) has tested positive for COVID-19.

The congresswoman announced the news Thursday afternoon, saying she took an extra test because several colleagues had tested positive.

Craig said she started experiencing mild COVID-19 symptoms shortly before learning of her positive test result.

After receiving the positive test result, Craig said she immediately isolated herself from staff and colleagues and is quarantining, per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.

“As soon as I’m able, I look forward to resuming my regular routine. In the meantime, I will continue my work remotely on behalf of Minnesotans,” Craig said in a statement.

The representative also urged the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19, which she credited for her symptoms not being worse.

Several other lawmakers and federal officials have recently announced positive COVID-19 tests, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
