Police investigate suspicious death in Loring Park neighborhood

Tuesday, Minneapolis police are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death.

Investigators said they were responding to a welfare call at an apartment building on East Grant Street just before 8 p.m. Monday.


Upon arrival, officers found a person who was pronounced dead at the scene. Evidence at the scene has led investigators to believe the death was the result of foul play.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene and interviewed a number of people nearby.

The medical examiner's office is expected to release the identity and official cause of death in the coming days.
