Pedestrian killed after being hit by suspected impaired driver in Hopkins

Police say a man is in custody on suspicion of striking and killing a woman while driving Friday evening in Hopkins.

According to the Hopkins Police Department, officers were dispatched to 15th and Main streets around 6:30 p.m. on a report of a car hitting a pedestrian. When they arrived, they found a woman pedestrian who had died.

After preliminary investigation, a 28-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of impaired driving, police said.
