Centennial girls soccer defeats Blaine, wins Section 7AA

The Centennial Cougars girls soccer team defeated the Blaine Bengals 2-0 Thursday evening to win Section 7AA, at Cougar Stadium on Centennial High School’s campus.

In the first half, Blaine got the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was called back due to the Bengals being offsides. The two teams battled to a 0-0 halftime score.

Early in the second half Centennial’s Ms. Soccer finalist, Khyah Harper drew a penalty inside the box. On the following penalty shot, Harper scored to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead with just over 30 minutes left in the match.

Then, Centennials’ Brooklyn Bordson had a beautiful assist to Sarah Strating to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead with just over three remaining in the match.

The Cougars would hold on to that score, winning the game 2-0. Centennial wins Section 7AA.
