The Minnesota Vikings agreed to a 2-year, $22 million deal with defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson Monday night. A traditional nose tackle, he's expected to line up as the starting three-technique next to Michael Pierce.

Tomlinson, 27, spent the first four years of his NFL career with the New York Giants. He's recorded 3.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons. He was a 2nd round draft pick out of Alabama in 2017.

Free agent contracts cannot become official until Wednesday.

The Vikings pivoted to Tomlinson after offers made to edge rushers Carl Lawson and Trey Hendrickson were turned down. Lawson agreed to a deal with the Jets, Hendrickson to the Bengals. Both signed for more money than what Minnesota offered, per sources.
