The Minnesota Vikings selected Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond with the 66th overall pick in the third round Friday night.

Mond threw 19 touchdown passes and was only intercepted three times during his senior season.

A four-year starter with the Aggies, Mond threw for 9,661 yards and 71 touchdowns, while also rushing for 1,609 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career.

Later in the round, the Vikings took a linebacker who began his college career at North Carolina as a quarterback - linebacker Chazz Surratt.

At 6-foot-2, Surratt is undersized but he has terrific speed.  His 115 tackles as a junior in 2019 ranked 2nd in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  He has 91 as a senior in 20202, which ranked 6th.

With their third pick in the third round, Minnesota bolstered their offensive line taking Ohio State guard Wyatt Davis. The 86th overall pick, Davis should compete for a starting job as a rookie.

Minnesota sports fans might recognize Davis' father from his role in the movie Little Big League, where he played a member of the Minnesota Twins.

They closed out their quartet of Day Two picks selecting Pittsburgh defensive end Patrick Jones II.

The Vikings currently hold six picks for Saturday's final day of the Draft - 3 in the fourth round, 2 in the fifth and one in the sixth.

They forfeited their seventh round pick due to a salary cap violation in 2019.
