Minnesota United adds defender Henry off waivers

Minnesota United has acquired a new defender, the club announced Monday.

According to Minnesota United, Doneil Henry was claimed off waivers.

The 29-year-old Canadian joins Minnesota after splitting last season with LAFC and Toronto FC.

Henry has made 114 regular-season appearances in his nine-year MLS career, logging nearly 8,600 minutes while scoring six goals.

Prior to rejoining Toronto in July, he spent his first five professional years with Toronto from 2010 through 2014, and has also played for Vancouver, Suwon Samsung Bluewings of the Korean K-League, West Ham United of the English Premier League, Blackburn Rovers of the English Championship and AC Horsens of the Danish Superliga. He’s also earned 44 caps with the Canadian National Team.
