Gophers-Nebraska men’s basketball game postponed

The Gophers men’s basketball game scheduled for Wednesday night in Lincoln, Nebraska has been postponed after multiple positive COVID-19 tests within the Nebraska Cornhuskers program.

Nebraska is pausing activities for at least seven more days with 12 members of the program, including head coach Fred Hoiberg and seven players, testing positive for the coronavirus within the past week.

"Our thoughts are with Coach Hoiberg, his players and everyone associated with the Nebraska program. We wish all those affected a healthy recovery," Gophers coach Richard Pitino released in a statement by the University of Minnesota.

The 23rd ranked Gophers are coming off a 75-57 win over previously undefeated Michigan. Minnesota’s next game is now Saturday, January 23rd against Maryland at Williams Arena (1:00 p.m.).
