Farrell back on the Twins, Albers optioned

Twins right-handed pitcher Luke Farrell is back from his rehab assignment, the team announced Sunday.

Farrell missed the last 62 games with a right oblique strain. He’s now off of the 60-day Injured List. Recently, he played three games on rehab assignment for St. Paul Saints, where he allowed two runs on two hits in 4.1 innings pitched, along with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Before being out of commission, he appeared in three Twins games — starting in two of them — allowing 10 runs on 15 hits in 12.1 innings he pitched, along with three walks and eight strikeouts.

To fit him into the Twins roster, the team optioned left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers to Triple-A. He appeared in three games, during which he allowed 10 runs on 15 hits in 12.1 innings, three walks and eight strikeouts.

Derek Law, right-hand pitcher, is designated for release or assignment. He was on rehab assignment for Triple-A while recovering from a right shoulder impingement, before that he played in nine Twins games. He allowed seven runs on 16 hits in 15.0 innings, with three walks and eight strikeouts.
