Park Center junior Adalia McKenzie scored 49 points in a game this season – the only player above Class A to hit that number this season. She also was the only player in the Metro to average more than 30 points per game.

McKenzie’s 49 points came in a game at Target Center against Spring Lake Park, who knocked Park Center out of the section playoffs last year.

Her 30.8 points per game trail only two northern players – Roseau’s Katie Borowicz and Duluth Marshall’s Gianna Kneepkens.

McKenzie’s scoring has made her a prime target for college recruting. She got her first offer from the University of Minnesota as a freshman, and the offers have steadily poured in ever since.

She says she wants to hold of on making a college decision until the summer’s AAU season is complete.

McKenzie and her Pirates open the State Tournament against Stillwater on Wednesday.
