Boys State Basketball: Minnehaha Academy escapes Byron with 75-63 State Quarterfinal win

Minnehaha Academy's Chet Holmgren and Hercy Miller each scored 21 points in the Redhawks' 75-63 win over Byron Wednesday night in the Class AAA State Boys Basketball Quarterfinals at Hastings High School.

Minnehaha Academy is poised to win its fourth straight title in Class 3A, but Byron gave the Red Hawks all they could handle in this game.

Byron's Jake Braaten gave a magnificent effort scoring a game-high 29 points, he even helped the Bears get within four points with just over three minutes to play in regulation, but the Redhawks pulled away to win by 12.

Mercy Miller did his part chipping in 12 points for Minnehaha Academy.

Minnehaha Academy will face DeLaSalle on April 8th at 3:00 pm at Target Center in the Class 3A state semifinals.
