Maple Grove rallies in third period to beat Hill-Murray in state quarterfinals

Maple Grove rallied with two goals in the third period to defeat Hill-Murray 3-2 Thursday night in the Class 2A quarterfinals of the Girls’ State Hockey Tournament at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Maple Grove’s Sam Stelljes scored 5:54 into the third period to tie the game at 2-2 and Tristana Tatur scored the game-winner with 4:01 left in regulation.

Brooke Cassibo made 20 saves for Maple Grove. The Crimson face 3-time defending state champions Edina in the state semifinals on Friday night.
