Hopkins star Kerwin Walton Jr. ready for college career at North Carolina

Hopkins Royals senior guard Kerwin Walton Jr. committed to the University of North Carolina on April 27. KSTP Sports caught up with Walton as he trained at Drive Athletic Performance in Edina.

Walton said he is excited to get to North Carolina, but hasn't quite nailed down the date he'll head to Chapel Hill. But the plan is to get there at some point for summer workouts. 

Walton is spending the time before he gets to campus working on his dribbling and defense.

He talked about how hard his decision was to pick UNC over the University of Minnesota, how he wants to be remembered in the state, and how his ultimate dream is to become an NBA player.
