#2 Edina boys soccer upsets #1 Wayzata with late goal

The #2 Edina Hornets boys soccer team defeated the #1 Wayzata Trojans 1-0 Tuesday evening at Kuhlman Field.

It was a hard-fought match through its entirety. Both Wayzata and Edina had multiple chances to score in the first half, but, both goalkeepers stood tall to make it 0-0 at the break.
In the second half, it was more of the same. But, with just under 13 minutes left, Edina’s senior captain, Henry Rose, put the Hornets up 1-0 with a beautiful goal.
Wayzata still had a couple of chance in the remaining 12-plus minutes. However, Edina’s senior captain goalkeeper was a brick wall in net. He and the Hornets finished the shutout and upset top-ranked Wayzata.
