State forest maps aim to help Minnesotans find summer fun

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on Monday highlighted eight new state forest maps to help Minnesotans find summer fun.

The maps are available for Bear Island, Big Fork, Burntside, Golden Anniversary, Remer, Koochiching, Smokey Bear and White Earth state forests.

The DNR said the maps can lead the way to summer hiking, mountain biking, birding, berry picking, horseback and ATV riding, fishing, camping and more.

You can view the maps online, on the free Avenza app, or by downloading and printing them.

The DNR said it has also recently updated maps for 23 state forests. You can view that list here.
