Students and staff at Pine City Elementary School are working on "knocking down hunger" one cereal box at a time.

This month is the 40th anniversary of Minnesota FoodShare’s March Campaign, which works to help stock nearly 300 food shelves across the state.

With that in mind, Pine City Elementary started collecting boxed cereal on March 8. On Wednesday, students and staff lined the halls to watch the more than 750 boxes of cereal, which were lined up like dominoes, get knocked down.

After the fun, the cereal was donated to Dragon Food Shelf, Pine Community Food Shelf, A Place For You, and other local organizations, the school said.
