A 52-year-old Black man has been identified as the victim who died after being hit by a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says Sean Matthew Gist died of multiple blunt force injuries.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 1:22 a.m., police and fire crews responded to a report of a personal injury crash involving a semi-truck and a minivan along Lyndale Avenue North near 46th Avenue North.

Police said emergency personnel arrived and saw that the minivan, reported stolen in Anoka County, and a semi-truck had crashed head-on. Officers found a man, later identified as Gist, on the ground.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the Gist dead at the scene.

There have been no arrests in relation to this case as of Friday morning. The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating.
