Police say a man was killed following a shooting in north Minneapolis Thursday afternoon.

According to the Minneapolis police, squads responded to the report of a shooting in the area of 21st Avenue North and Fourth Street North at 2:48 p.m.


When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The man was in critical condition and transported to an area hospital where he later died.

A possible participant in the crime fled the area on foot but was captured by responding officers.

Police say this is the 28th homicide of the year in Minneapolis.
