Inclement weather leads to slick roads, several crashes in western Minnesota

A mix of rain, sleet and snow moved over parts of western Minnesota Thursday, causing slick roads that led to several crashes.
The Minnesota State Patrol said in Kittson County, in the northwest corner of the state, windy and icy conditions blew a semi and a plow off the road.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Similar conditions were reported in Clay County as the State Patrol said it received several reports of crashes, vehicles sliding off the road and jackknifed semis Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, according to Carver County officials, flooding forced a closure along County Road 123 from 42nd to 50th streets.
According to KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas, that mix of bad weather is expected to make its way across the rest of the state Friday, likely making for unpleasant road conditions in parts of the state.
