More possible coronavirus cases from Minnesota that were sent to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have returned negative, but others are still pending.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, as of Monday, tests for five potential cases of the new virus had returned negative.

Wednesday afternoon, MDH updated that to 13 negative cases, with another eight tests still pending.

The health department said if the virus is confirmed in Minnesota and spreads, there are multiple tools in its toolbox, which could potentially include closing schools or canceling public gatherings, or possibly requesting faith communities hold services via video.

According to the Associated Press, more than 90,000 people have fallen ill with the coronavirus.
