Hutchinson will pay $47,711.69 for the wrecked Ford Explorer, according to a Hennepin County spokesperson. That announcement comes a day after the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners was set to discuss the sheriff in a closed meeting.

This stems from a Dec. 8 incident where the sheriff admitted to driving while intoxicated.

He was later sentenced to two years of probation.

While many have called for the sheriff to resign, he has declined to do so. However, Hutchinson announced last week that he won’t seek reelection.
