Hit-and-run crash in Savage leaves 1 with life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning

A driver was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning for life-threatening injuries from a crash with a pickup truck. The driver and occupants of the truck fled on foot after the crash, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

The report states that the crash happened just before 2:40 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Egan Drive and Highway 13 in Savage.

A Honda Civic was southbound on Highway 13 when a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 reportedly ran a red light and and struck the driver’s side of the Honda, causing the Dodge to roll. The Dodge then came to rest in the eastbound lanes of Egan Drive, and the Honda in the median of Egan drive.

State Patrol said the driver and occupants of the Dodge fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived.

The driver of the Honda was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to MSP.
