The Minnesota Board of Animal Health is reporting a new outbreak of bird flu in Dodge County.

The outbreak was reported at a commercial turkey farm with a flock of 20,000, Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate KAAL-TV reports.

According to the board, the farm was quarantined on Monday.

Last week, the H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian influenza was also found in Meeker, Mower, and Stearns counties. The Minnesota Board of Animal Health counted 20 birds in Mower County that were affected by the virus.

An emergency response team from the United States Department of Agriculture was activated last week to “support the state’s disease control and containment efforts of H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).”
