Minnesota man killed in skiing accident in Arizona

A 61-year-old man is dead after an accident at Snowbowl in Flagstaff, Arizona.

At 9:46 a.m. on Tuesday, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the ski area for a report of an accident on the ‘Phoenix’ run.

Authorities say that ski patrol attempted life-saving measures for about 30 minutes but the victim, Michael Amiot, was pronounced dead at the Agassiz Lodge on the resort.

An investigation into the accident says that the victim was not wearing a helmet and sustained ‘serious head trauma’.

The Coconino County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
