World Snow Sculpting Championships begin Wednesday in Stillwater

Snow artists from around the globe will gather in Stillwater Wednesday to create their masterpieces for the World Snow Sculpting Championship competition.

Teams will be in Lowell Park Wednesday, with the event kicking off at 8:45 a.m. However, artists won’t actually begin working until 9 a.m.

An opening ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the JX Event Center, with festivities running through Sunday.

The competition begins hours ahead of when a winter system moves into the region, and roughly 2-4″ of snow is expected to fall in the Twin Cities area.
