Wisconsin woman severely injured by train in Delano

A Wisconsin woman was seriously injured early Friday morning in a train accident in Delano.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the area of Fourth Street South and Franklin Avenue East shortly after 2 a.m. on a report of a woman who’d been injured by a moving train.

There, deputies found a 51-year-old from Webster, Wis., lying on the railroad tracks with “severe injuries.”

Emergency aid was provided before she was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Authorities say the woman and two others had apparently been crossing the railroad tracks between two parked train cars when the train started moving. The woman then fell and got stuck under the moving train cars.

Her condition as of Friday afternoon was unclear.
