Blaine police ask for help identifying carjacking suspect

Authorities in Blaine are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in an armed carjacking.

According to Blaine Police, officers were called to a report of an armed carjacking at the Cub Foods in Northtown Mall on Saturday.

Police say the suspect shot at a 60-year-old man who was trying to protect his daughter from the suspect.

The suspect is described as being around 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a Runtz sweatshirt and red shoes at the time.

Anyone who can help police identify the man is asked to call Detective Oren Christensen at 763-717-2665, email ochristensen@blainemn.gov or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Those who submit a tip through Crime Stoppers can be eligible for a $1,000 reward if it leads to an arrest.
