3 months later, Blue Line services to resume between MOA and MSP

The Metro Transit Blue Line construction project between the Mall of America and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will finally come to an end after a three-month closure.

The project was originally set to close light rail services from July 8 to Aug. 15 in both directions between the two locations, but work was extended by nearly two extra months.

As previously reported, Metro Transit extended the duration indefinitely in early August. Affected light rail services will now reopen at 4 a.m. on Oct. 6.

In the meantime, passengers have been riding replacement buses, which do not run as quickly as LRT routes. Those replacement buses will continue to operate for the remainder of the closure.
