For the second time this month, the opening of the highly anticipated Immersive Van Gogh exhibition in Minneapolis has been delayed.

The exhibit was set to open Thursday in a northeast Minneapolis warehouse but show organizers spent the day trying to get a permit from the city.

"We are using it in a very different way, which means we need a different classification and consequently our occupancy permit just needs a little bit more time," Nick Harkin, an exhibit spokesman, said.

In a statement, the city of Minneapolis said in part:

"The initial plans didn’t meet building code. City staff asked their architect to submit an alternative plan that included safety features to keep people safe. The architect has submitted a plan that the City has signed off on."

The show is set to open Friday morning at 10. Tickets start at $50.
