Social Media Minute: Gmail Experiments with QR Codes

Gmail is experimenting with QR Codes to help you avoid typing your password on a public computer. Plus, are Twitter followers or Facebook subscribers more valuable?

New York Times Columnist Nicholas Kristof says Facebook subscribers are more valuable. Kristof has 1.2 million Twitter followers and 300 thousand Facebook subscribers. He says Facebook subscribers are much more engaged and every Facebook subscriber is worth four Twitter followers.

Gmail is experimenting with QR codes to help you avoid typing in your password on a public computer. It works by letting you go to an assigned web site with a QR code and then scan the code with your smartphone, type in your Gmail username and password, and click start.
