Grand Rapids Couple Claim $2.6 Million Winning Hot Lotto Ticket

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to win $2.6 million dollars? Wednesday someone who knows said it feels "fantastic."

Minnesota's newest millionaires were all smiles and giggles as they claimed their prize Wednesday afternoon.

Sandy Conrad of Grand Rapids said she picked up a hot lotto ticket when she stopped at the gas station last weekend, just like she does every Saturday. It wasn't until Monday she heard the winning ticket was sold in Itasca County. She and her husband, Don, had to check the numbers.

The prize is $2.6 million dollars. Sandy and Don say they'll take the cash option worth $1.98 million before taxes. They plan to get a new car, help out their kids and grandkids and do some traveling.
 
It's not the first time the couple has won big. Don says he won $2,600 in the Illinois lottery when he lived there.
