Julia Blackhawk 32-year-old Julia Blackhawk was living her dream as a student stylist at Aveda. Her friends and family remember her for her style and spirituality. Her body was transported to Nebraska for a Native American funeral ceremony.
Paul Eickstad
51-year-old Paul Eickstad was a veteran delivery truck driver for Sara Lee Bakery. He was on his way to Iowa, when the I-35W bridge collapsed. Paul lived in Mounds View. He is survived by a brother and two sisters.
Sherry Engebretsen
60-year-old Sherry Engebretsen was on her way home to Shoreview for dinner the night of the collapse. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS first met the Engebretsen family, searching for the wife and mother of two. "My wife's a fighter and she will do everything she can to work herself out of this situation," said her husband Ronald. Sherry worked for Thrivent Financial. She is survived by her husband and two daughters.
Peter Hausmann
47-year-old Peter Hausmann was on his way to pick up a friend for dinner when the bridge collapsed. Peter was a computer security specialist at Assurity River Group. His family resides in Rosemount.
Patrick Holmes
36-year-old Patrick Holmes, of Mounds View, was on his typical route home from work when the bridge collapsed. "He was a great husband, he was a great father. He loved spending time doing stuff with them. He coached our son in baseball and loved it and he's going to be missed," his wife Jennifer told MPR. Holmes is survived by his wife and two children.
Greg Jolstad
45-year-old Greg Jolstad was one of 18 construction workers doing resurfacing work. Greg, of Mora, was the last person pulled from the Mississippi River, 13 days after the collapse. "I don't know what the future holds for me. Honestly, some days are hard. Some days it is hard to find the energy to do anything...God I miss him," Greg's wife Lisa told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
Richart Chit & Vera Peck
20-year-old Richart Chit was in a car with his 49-year-old mother, Vera Peck when the bridge collapsed. Family members said Richard, who had Down's syndrome, and his mother, were inseparable. In an interview with MSNBC, Richard's sister said that "one of them wouldn't survive without the other, so maybe that's just the way it's supposed to be."
Christina Sacorafas
45-year-old Christina Sacorafas was on her way to dance class from White Bear Lake when she was killed in the collapse. In her honor, the community dedicated last year's Greek Fest to the woman who loved dance and loved teaching the art to children. "She interacted with the children. They loved her. She had a very outgoing personality that drew people to her," explained fellow dance teacher Rena Tsengas.
Sadiya Sahal & Hanna Sahal
23-year-old Sadiya Sahal was driving across the bridge with her 2-year-old daughter Hannah to get to a relatives house the night of the collapse. Sadiya's family said she was five months pregnant with her second child. Sadiya was 16-years-old when she came to Minneapolis in 2000 as a refugee from Somalia. She is survived by her husband.
Scott Sathers
29-year-old Scott Sathers was driving his usual route home to Blaine. Scott worked as an enrollment director at Capella University. He is survived by his wife.
Artemio Trinidad-Mena
29-year-old Artemio Trinidad-Mena is remembered as a hard-working man by friends and family alike. He worked for a wholesale produce company in Minneapolis. Friends said Artemio sent the money he made to his three children who were living with his extended family in Mexico. His wife and infant daughter lived with him in Minneapolis.
